Morning everyone! It's been raining here for the past two days, and it doesn't really look like things will be changing for the rest of weekend. So, for today I've decided to look back on more summery days I spent with friends in the city and at the Jersey shore.
My friend Cass (Learn more about her in last Thursday's look,
Suburban Shades of Cool ) decided to fly up from Florida and spend a few days with my friend Alex and I. Cass and I decided months before when she was booking the trip's tickets that we'd surprise Alex with her coming, so all he knew was to keep the weekend free. Lauren, a good friend of Alex and I's, was also able to spend an afternoon with us and you'll see her in the photos below.
Having first met in the city and then bonding over a mutual love for it, Cass and I knew we'd be spending a good deal of time in Manhattan/Brooklyn, but I also wanted to show her around my hometown at the Jersey shore. She'd later comment it was a "Cute, beachy, little town", which is accurate for around 5 months out of the year.
The photos in this post were all taken on Cass's film camera, a Canon AE-1 program that she was nice enough to let me and Alex play with.

Spending the weekend with them was such a great time, and it was refreshing to see the town I've living in for past 10+ years through someone new. You realize what you find to be really worth showing and also what you may take for granted. For me, the number one thing was living so close to the city and being able to just do small trips like this. Being from Florida, Cass would make comments about how lucky we were to be so close have that ability, but hopefully she'll be living there with us soon!
I hope those of you reading/viewing this are having great summers as well, and enjoy the remainder of the weekend! Till next time,
Stay posh. Stay riotous.
