Classics With A Cause

After a few weeks of preparation, here we have it...the first look of Posh Riot!
For our first look, we decided to go with something that just about everyone has either seen and admired or actually worn themselves: The classic black leather motorcycle jacket with a white tee.

Emerging from the Greaser subculture of the 1950's, it's a look that exudes the attitude of the effortlessly cool youth. In recent years, it's been revived by models-off-duty, the indie rockers of the world, and yours truly on a weekly basis.
To begin, we have the first and most vital piece of the look, the biker jacket. Characterized by it's blazer-esque lapel, cropped hem, and slim fit, the moto manages to be both sophisticated and rugged.
The latest trend also has fashionistas/os wearing their jackets slung across across their back, which not only furthers the laid-back cool image, but also allows us to wear them despite the summer heat.

While we recommend spending a bit more on the jacket, as it'll be lasting you a few years, the white tee is an item that be purchased cheaply from department stores. Or, if you're feeling especially posh, from designer brands. (If you've got around 300$ laying around.)
Complete the look with the 1950's signature Ray-Ban Wayfarers. Popularized by the original rebel without a cause James Dean, Ray-Ban's classic glasses remain a summer must have.
The other items pictured are wardrobe staples most everyone should have: Black jeans and Doc Martens. Surprisingly enough to me, H&M's 20 dollar denim have become my favorite pair, not only for their comfort but for their look. They have retained their shape after many washes and have yet to tear or lose much color. The ankle-cut Docs are great for keeping some punk in your summer wardrobe and staying on-trend by flashing some ankle.
